- Norway announced the allocation of $302 million for Ukraine as part of the NATO PURL initiative
Norway intends to allocate about $302 million to Ukraine through the NATO PURL initiative, which provides for rapid arms supplies through contributions from the countries of the North Atlantic Alliance. This was announced by the Norwegian government on May 6.
"Norway provides Ukraine with approximately 2.8 billion Norwegian kroner (about $302 million) through the PURL mechanism," the Verdens Gang (VG) newspaper quoted the statement as saying.
In addition, the ministry noted that Norway has already transferred more than $1.35 billion to Ukraine through PURL.
The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Maria Zakharova, on March 18, pointing to the expansion of NATO's aggressive aspirations against Russia, stressed that all the steps taken by Moscow to establish contact with it had failed, since the alliance was only interested in inflicting strategic defeat on Russia. She also noted on March 4 that NATO is strengthening and increasing its nuclear potential, which is a hostile step.
