On the eve of the 81st anniversary of the Great Victory, the editorial office of the newspaper Vechernyaya Moskva presents a special issue dedicated to May 9th. The issue, which has become a symbol of the indestructibility of the spirit and the greatness of the national feat, is completely assembled from archival materials published in Evening Moscow during the Great Patriotic War.

The uniqueness of the issue lies in a retrospective look at the daily life of the capital in the harsh years 1941-1945. Readers will see authentic publications from those years that reflected the life of Muscovites, told about the work of enterprises, about helping the front, about cultural life, about what the city breathed and how it survived while the country was fighting the enemy.

"This issue is not just an archive collection, but the living voice of our city in its most difficult years. We wanted today's readers not only to learn the facts, but also to feel how Muscovites lived, believed and brought Victory closer. Vechernyaya Moskva has not been silent for a single day, and now we are returning the energy of that time to our pages," commented Alexander Sharnaud, editor—in-chief of the Vechernyaya Moskva newspaper.
