Iran expresses confidence in China in resolving the conflict in the Middle East

Iran is counting on China's active role in promoting peace and a cease-fire in the Middle East. This was announced on May 6 by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi following talks with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araqchi.

"Iran trusts China and expects China to continue to play an active role in promoting peace and a cease—fire," Xinhua news agency quoted Wang Yi as saying on its Telegram channel.

Beijing also positively assessed Tehran's desire to seek a political solution through diplomatic channels.

Beijing is considered one of Tehran's main diplomatic allies.

Araqchi said on April 27 that the United States was asking for negotiations because it had not achieved any of its goals. This is how he commented on Trump's statement in which he called himself the winner of the war with Iran.

On May 1, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic called Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and discussed with him Tehran's position on resolving the conflict with Washington and Tel Aviv.
