Drivers should carry a paper copy of the CTP policy with them in case of Internet restrictions. This was reported in the Russian Union of Motor Insurers (RSA), RIA Novosti reported on May 6.

According to the union, with restrictions on the Internet, a situation may arise that an employee of the State Traffic Inspectorate will not be able to check whether the driver has a valid CTP policy using his official Internet service.

In this case, the driver will be able to present to the traffic inspector a CTP policy printed on a regular paper sheet, previously issued in electronic form. It is desirable to have such a printout, the RSA emphasized.

The driver should also have contacts with his insurance company so that he can promptly report an accident or get advice from an insurer, the union noted.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on April 23 that Internet disruptions in major cities are related to preventing terrorist threats, and this work is a priority. He stressed that widespread and early informing of people about the limitations of the Internet can damage the operational work of the special services, since criminals, receiving such information, can adjust their plans.
