The United States will impose secondary sanctions on China if it ignores restrictions against Iran. This was announced on May 5 by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
"We have the appropriate response tools. If anyone ignores our sanctions, they may face secondary sanctions. I don't have any new announcements about this today, but we are not introducing such measures just for the sake of symbolic gestures," he said at a briefing for reporters at the White House, answering a question about Beijing's disregard for US sanctions.
