One high school student was killed and 26 people were injured in a traffic accident involving a minibus and two other vehicles in Japan. This was reported on May 6 by NHK TV channel, citing sources.

"There was an accident involving three vehicles, including a minibus that was transporting high school students from Niigata Prefecture," the text of the message says.

According to the publication, the accident happened on the morning of May 6 on the Ban-Etsu expressway in Fukushima Prefecture. A minibus carrying high school students to extracurricular activities collided with a roadside shock-absorbing drum, resulting in an accident involving two more vehicles.

It is claimed that there were more than 10 students from Hokushin High School in Niigata Prefecture in the minibus, one student was thrown out of the car, as a result of which he died. In addition, a total of 26 people were injured, among them a high school student in a minibus and passengers of other vehicles, some were seriously injured.

The details of the incident are currently being clarified.

On May 3, an accident involving a passenger bus occurred in Turkey's Malatya province, killing four people and injuring 15 others. The vehicle drove off the road into a ravine, after which it overturned.
