Three girls were killed by lightning in Kabale district in Uganda. This was reported on May 4 by the Nilepost News portal.

"The incident occurred last night around 17:00 during a heavy downpour. It is reported that the victims were sheltering in the kitchen of their house when the rain intensified, while their parents were absent," the publication says.

According to the portal, two 13-year-old schoolgirls and a four-year-old kindergarten student were killed.

It is specified that a lightning strike hit the house, which led to the instant death of the girls.

At the moment, the competent authorities are continuing to clarify the circumstances of the incident, providing support to the affected families.

Sky News reported on April 27 that a 10-year-old boy and at least 13 people were killed in Bangladesh as a result of lightning strikes. Seasonal thunderstorms have killed 14 people in the region. Several people were also struck by lightning and are in critical condition in the hospital.
