"A missile hit a cargo ship in the Persian Gulf region, several crew members were injured," the publication says.

It is specified that the vessel belonging to the French company, according to preliminary information, was attacked by a cruise missile.

The UK Office of Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported on May 5 that a shell hit a cargo ship in the Strait of Hormuz.

On May 5, Press TV reported that Iran had announced the introduction of a new vessel passage system through the Strait of Hormuz. It was clarified that all ships intending to pass through the Strait of Hormuz will receive an email from an official address outlining the rules and regulations of passage.

On May 3, American leader Donald Trump announced that the United States would help withdraw ships blocked due to the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.
