Ukraine's gross domestic product (GDP) decreased by 0.7% in the first quarter compared to the beginning of the current year. This was announced on May 5 by the Ukrainian State Statistics Service.

According to the agency's Facebook post (owned by Meta, recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation), the drop was 0.5% compared to the same quarter of the previous year.

On April 21, Ukraine's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Andriy Melnyk, demanded that European allies decide to increase military aid to Kiev to 1% of their GDP.
