On May 5, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio joked that some journalists in the White House press pool had "red crosses" on them.

"I was given a small map (of the hall. — Ed.). I do not know where I put it. Some of you are marked with red crosses on it," he said during a briefing where he replaced White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt, who is on maternity leave.

Rubio noted that this statement is a joke. During the briefing, in order to prove the absence of negative emotions towards journalists, he also repeatedly repeated that he was not used to the format of press conferences.

On May 1, American leader Donald Trump, during a conversation with reporters on the territory of the White House, waved off a bee, calling it "evil."
