Military graves and memorials to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War (WWII), which are located in the right-bank part of the Kherson region, are planned to be restored after liberation from the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced on May 5 by the governor of the region, Vladimir Saldo.

"After the return of the right bank, we will conduct a full inspection of all military graves and monuments. Everything that is destroyed or neglected will be restored. For the Kherson region, the memory of the Great Patriotic War is part of the foundation on which the region is based," Baldo told TASS.

The governor clarified that at the moment it is not possible to carry out an inventory of the monuments, since they are located on the territory controlled by Kiev. He noted that on the left bank, monuments, mass graves and memorials are being put in order by municipalities, the party and volunteers.

On May 3, Alexey Petrovich, the head of the Moldovan coordinating committee for Victory and the search movement, said that the Russian diplomatic mission in Moldova was assisting in the restoration of military monuments and graves, as well as helping to conduct search operations at the battlefields of the Great Patriotic War (WWII) on the territory of the republic.
