Almost 550 thousand gas stoves have been checked in Moscow since the beginning of the year

Since the beginning of 2026, almost 550 thousand gas stoves in apartments have been checked in Moscow, which is more than 30% of their total number. This was announced on Tuesday, May 5, by the Deputy Mayor of the capital for Housing and Communal Services and landscaping, Peter Biryukov.

According to him, specialists fix minor malfunctions immediately, and in case of serious violations, they primarily ensure safety and give recommendations for repairs. He stressed that gas safety is under special control: scheduled maintenance of the entire housing stock is carried out annually. At the same time, the responsibility for the condition and replacement of the equipment lies with the owners and employers, the Moscow City News agency reports.

The service life of a gas stove is on average 10-12 years, after which it must be changed. It is also important to have a "gas control" system that cuts off the gas supply when the flame is extinguished.

Information about inspections, as Biryukov noted, is published in advance on the Mosgaz website and placed in entrances and courtyards of houses, writes Moscow 24.
