The number of victims of the attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in Cheboksary has increased to 34 people. This was reported on May 5 in the press service of the Ministry of Health of Chuvashia.
"The data is operational. They are changing. 34 people were injured," RIA Novosti quoted the agency as saying.
In addition, the ministry noted that two people also died as a result of the incident.
On the same day, the Prime Minister of the region, Sergei Artamonov, allowed the option of declaring a national emergency due to the attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Earlier in the day, the Ministry of Health of the republic said that three people were injured in a Ukrainian drone strike on Cheboksary. In connection with the incident, the Minister of Education of Chuvashia Dmitry Zakharov said that schools and technical schools of the republic have been transferred to distance learning.
Subsequently, Trofimov said that Cheboksary authorities had deployed a temporary accommodation facility and an operational headquarters after the drone strikes. Investigators have opened a criminal case on a terrorist act (Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
