Pashinyan called Armenia the crossroads of West and East
On May 5, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated within the framework of the Yerevan Dialogue forum that Armenia has changed its geographical location and is now located at the crossroads of West and East.
"Today I can state that a truly historic event has taken place in the sense that now the brief description of the geographical location of the Republic of Armenia is not that it is located in a problematic environment of a problematic region. The description of Armenia's geographical location is as follows: the shortest route connecting East with West and West with East passes through the Republic of Armenia," he said, the recording is available on the forum's YouTube channel.
He also congratulated his fellow citizens on the change in the geographical location of the country and added that this view creates a new image of Armenia, as well as its condition and potential. According to Pashinyan, with the help of this perception, the country will be able to move "from an unfavorable geographical location to a favorable one."
Following the results of the first summit with Armenia in Yerevan on the same day, the European Union supported the "European aspirations" of the republic and confirmed its readiness to invest about €2.5 billion in its economy. The parties reached agreements on moving towards easing the visa regime and expanding cooperation in the defense sector.
