It will take 20 years to rebuild the Islamic Republic of Iran after the war, after which it will still not be the same. This was announced on May 4 by US President Donald Trump in an interview with radio host Hugh Hewitt.

"If we (the US Armed Forces). — Ed.) Let's leave today, they (the Iranians. It will take 20 years to rebuild your country, and it will never be the same again," he said.

The American leader added that his military allegedly managed to sink all his ships and destroy his entire army during the military operation in Iran. Commenting on the results of several stages of the truce, he noted the work of his intelligence, which allowed him to obtain information about the accumulation of new military forces by representatives of the Islamic Republic.

In "Газете.ги "it was clarified that Trump stated Tehran's alleged inability to continue financing the Palestinian group Hamas and the Lebanese Hezbollah. It was emphasized that the current situation remains "explosive" for Iran due to the fact that its underground oil systems may be destroyed. This, in turn, will happen, according to the forecasts of the head of the White House, at the moment when the process of a complete shutdown of production takes place.

On May 2, the day his administration received a 14-point settlement plan from Tehran, Trump said he wanted to destroy all of Iran's remaining missile potential. The next day, he refused the Islamic Republic's offer to end the conflict. The American president called it unacceptable and said he was pleased with his campaign in the Middle East.

On May 4, Associate Professor of the Department of Political Analysis and Socio-Psychological Processes at the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, Reserve Colonel Alexander Perendzhiev, commenting on the whole situation, pointed out its transition to a protracted stage of "neither peace nor war." Speaking about the actions of the parties, he noted their stubbornness and suggested that Washington is striving for a conflict where it will be possible to declare victory unequivocally, but Tehran refuses to concede.
