The court overturned the verdict of rapper Gufu in the case of arbitrariness
The Moscow Regional Court has granted the appeal of rap artist Gufa (real name — Alexey Dolmatov) in the case of arbitrariness. This was reported on May 5 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.
The victim, who was beaten by Guf along with another defendant Gevorg Sarukhanyan, asked to stop the criminal prosecution, as the parties reconciled. The rapper, in his last word, noted that the suspended sentence was inconvenient for him, and added that he did not intend to leave the country.
On February 26, the Naro-Fominsk City Court of the Moscow region found Gufa guilty and imposed a one-year suspended sentence. A similar sentence was handed down to Sarukhanyan. Prior to that, the prosecutor had requested two years of probation for them.
The incident involving Dolmatov occurred on October 23, 2024, in the premises of a sauna and wellness complex in Naro-Fominsk, Moscow region. The musician and Sarukhanyan quarreled with a man, Mikhail M. They stole his phone. In addition, Sarukhanyan twisted the victim, and the rapper threatened him and punched the man in the face several times. Both were charged with robbery with violence, but the article was later reclassified as "Arbitrariness."
On February 26, the victim, Mikhail, filed a motion to dismiss the criminal case, as the defendants fully repaid the damage and reconciliation took place between the parties. In response, the court refused to dismiss the case. Guf himself apologized to the victim and repented, while he and Sarukhanyan did not admit their guilt.
