The British police's counter-terrorism unit is investigating the arson attack on a former synagogue in east London. This was reported on May 5 by the Reuters news agency, citing local authorities.

"Police were called following reports of a fire in the former synagogue earlier in the day, according to the statement. The police added that minor damage was caused to the gate and lock at the entrance to the building, and there are no reports of injuries," the material says.

It is noted that this arson was committed after a series of other similar incidents involving Jewish facilities in London.

On April 19, Reuters reported that the Kenton United synagogue in north London had become another target of arson attacks on Jewish sites in the British capital in recent weeks. According to the statement, minor smoke damage was recorded in one of the synagogue's interior rooms, but no one was injured and there was no significant structural damage.

London police have arrested two suspects in an attempted arson attack on the Kenton United synagogue on April 20, in the north of the city. It was clarified that investigators are investigating possible links between these actions and the Middle East conflict.

On April 21, one of the suspects in the arson attack on a synagogue in north London was charged. However, it is noted that his accomplice of 19 years was released on bail until the investigation is completed.
