The Ministry of Transport explained the procedure for re-registration of taxi cars
The Russian Ministry of Transport explained the procedure for re-registration of taxi cars and sent a corresponding letter to all regions of the country. As explained in the ministry, earlier carriers in some regions faced refusals when re-entering a car into the taxi registry if the car had previously worked in this field, but was registered in another entity. This was announced on May 5 on the website of the Public Council for Taxi Development.
The Ministry of Transport indicated that the requirements for localization of cars do not apply to those cars whose VIN information was previously contained in any regional register of passenger taxis or in the FGIS Taxi.
Thus, if the car was already entered into the registry before the new requirements came into force, it can be re-registered, even if it previously worked in another region. The federal law does not establish any other conditions for the application of this norm, the ministry noted.
The FGIS Taxi system implements a mechanism for saving information about excluded cars, including VIN. The Ministry of Transport recommended that regional authorities update records that do not contain such information in order to ensure correct data verification.
Earlier, on April 22, it was reported that the Public Council for Taxi Development sent proposals to the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation to fulfill the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation on the development of transportation of children in taxis. The appeal notes that sufficient current requirements for transportation already exist, but their implementation is associated with a number of problems in practice.
On March 4, the Ministry of Industry and Trade published a list of domestically produced cars that fall under the approved parameters of the law on taxi localization. The ministry recalled that this list suggests the possibility of regular updates, taking into account models that will be produced in Russia under the SPIC with commitments to deepen localization.
