On the eve of the summer season, 209 floating houses for ducks will appear in the capital's reservoirs. This was reported on May 5 on the portal of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. mos.ru .

"In winter, the company's specialists conducted a thorough inspection and necessary maintenance of each house. Platforms, facades and roofs were cleaned of <...> contamination, and damaged elements were repaired if necessary. In addition, we checked the strength of the cables connecting the floating structures to the anchors," Svetlana Butushina, head of the Department of Planning, Control and Analysis of operational activities at the State Unitary Enterprise Mosvodostok, said in the publication.

Such houses are necessary for birds to rest safely on the water, especially for chicks after long swims. First of all, they are placed on reservoirs where there are no shallow exits to the shore.

Work on the delivery of cabins from storage sites and their installation begins after the ice has completely disappeared and the reservoirs are prepared for the summer season. The "apartments" for birds remain on the ponds until the first autumn frosts, when the birds begin to fly south.

On the portal mos.ru On April 27, it was reported that feline lemurs and curly-haired pelicans had offspring in the Moscow Zoo. Lemur twins were born on March 11 to Leopard and Alautra. The pelicans Glasha and Yasha hatched two chicks: the first on April 1, the second on the next day, and now they are being cared for by ornithologists.
