In St. Petersburg, from May 5 to May 9, there may be problems with the operation of the mobile Internet and banking applications in connection with the preparation of events for Victory Day. This was reported on May 4 by the TV channel 78.ru .

"Due to the preparation and holding of mass events, there may be difficulties with the operation of the Internet. The restrictions are aimed at ensuring security measures," the TV channel quotes a message from one of the mobile operators.

Banks have also been warned about such measures. The messages note that during this period, you should use the home Internet, regular calls will work as usual.

Earlier in the day, it became known that major mobile operators had begun warning Muscovites about possible restrictions on mobile Internet access in the capital in preparation for Victory Day celebrations.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on April 23 that Internet disruptions in major cities are related to preventing terrorist threats, and this work is a priority. He stressed that widespread and early informing of people about the limitations of the Internet can damage the operational work of the special services, since criminals, receiving such information, can adjust their plans.
