Lokomotiv beat Avangard and tied the score in the KHL playoff semifinal series.

Yaroslavl hockey club (HC) Lokomotiv defeated Omsk Avangard in the sixth match of the semi-final playoff series of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). The match took place on May 4 in Omsk and ended in overtime with a score of 3:2 in favor of the guests.

Among the winners, Maxim Shalunov scored a double in the last minute of the third period, assisted twice by Alexander Radulov. Rushan Rafikov scored the winning goal in the 97th minute. Vasily Ponomarev scored for Avangard in the 11th minute and Maxim Lajoie in the 41st minute.

Thanks to two goals scored, Maxim Shalunov became the ninth player in the history of the league to break the 250-goal mark. The forward currently has 251 goals in the KHL.

The victory allowed Lokomotiv to even the score in the series to four wins — 3-3. The decisive seventh match of the confrontation will be held on Wednesday, May 6, in Yaroslavl.
