Preparations for the construction of a new rescue base have begun in Ulan-Ude.

In Ulan-Ude (Republic of Buryatia), a site has been identified for the construction of a new building for the search and rescue service of the MCU "Safe City". It will be placed closer to the water, the city administration reports, citing the committee on Civil Defense, Emergency Situations and Public Safety.

The modular building will be erected on Mostovaya Street, as close as possible to the reservoir. Preparatory work has already begun on the selected site. According to UlanMedia, the contractor performs the layout and leveling of the territory.

"The location of the base near a reservoir is critically important for operational work. This will reduce the response time to emergencies and increase the effectiveness of rescue operations," explained Valery Wildavsky, Chairman of the committee.

It is noted that capital construction is not provided. The contractor will assemble a modular structure on site, which will replace the emergency building on Svobody Street with furnace heating. It is planned to complete the installation by November 1.
