Since the beginning of the season, 122 people have suffered from tick bites in the Tula region. Every fifth pest carries borreliosis.

According to TSN24, 26 children are among the injured. Bites mostly occur on house territories, in gardening associations and when visiting forests.

The laboratory received 105 ticks that were removed from humans, and 71 pests from the environment. The overall infection rate with borrelia was 20.5%. Another 9.1% of ticks suffered from human granulocytic anaplasmosis.

Experts remind us that vaccination remains the best way to protect against tick-borne encephalitis. It is also recommended to use insecticidal preparations and choose closed clothing when going out into nature.
