An apartment building was attacked in northern Oman, injuring two foreign citizens. This was reported on May 4 by the National News Agency of Oman (ONA).

"A source in the security services reported that the apartment building where the company's employees live in the Tibat district of the Buha velayat was attacked, as a result of which two foreign citizens were moderately injured, four cars were damaged, and windows were broken in a neighboring house," the newspaper reported.

The British Navy's Maritime Trade Coordination Center (UKMTO) reported on April 18 that boats from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) attacked a tanker off the coast of Oman. According to the report, none of the crew was injured. The Omani authorities have begun investigating the incident.

The Central Command of the US Armed Forces (CENTCOM) earlier on May 4 reported that the United States would begin supporting the Freedom Project in order to restore freedom of navigation for commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz with the participation of 15,000 military personnel. The mission, initiated by US President Donald Trump, will provide support to merchant ships seeking to pass through the Strait of Hormuz unhindered.
