Blogger Valeria Chekalina, known as Lercek, underwent her fourth course of chemotherapy during cancer treatment. This was announced on May 4 by her lover Luis Squicciarini on his Instagram page (owned by Meta, the company's activities are recognized as extremist and banned in Russia).
"Lera has had her fourth chemistry, she is trying her best to keep her spirits up," he said.
Chekalina was diagnosed with stage IV stomach cancer. She is undergoing treatment at the Blokhin National Research Medical Center of Oncology. In total, the blogger will undergo nine courses of chemotherapy and immune therapy.
"Today I have the fourth chemistry out of nine. This means that almost half of the way has been done," Chekalina said in the published video.
Lercek's former husband, Artyom Chekalin, who was convicted in the case of withdrawing funds to the UAE using forged documents, paid 900 million rubles to the tax service on April 27. On April 13, Chekalin was sentenced to seven years in a penal colony. In addition, he will have to pay a fine of 194 million rubles. The defense intends to appeal the verdict against Chekalin.
