Chinese may become one of the global languages of communication in the next 20-30 years, but this process will depend on political and economic factors. Tatiana Lobanova, Doctor of Philology, Director of the Regional Center for Chinese Language and Chinese Studies at the State University of Education, told Izvestia on May 4.

"I consider the chances of Chinese becoming lingua franca to be medium high. And this is exactly the perspective of 20-30 years, not earlier," she said.

According to the expert, the growing interest in Chinese is associated with the strengthening of China's economic and technological influence, as well as active cooperation with European countries. At the same time, there may be political restrictions that may slow down the spread of the language.

Lobanova stressed that the importance of the Chinese language in Russia will grow against the background of expanding cooperation with China.

"When there is a need to negotiate, the language factor naturally increases, and this entails a change in its status," she explained.

The expert stressed that in case of strengthening the position of the Chinese language, a review of educational programs will be required. In particular, it can be taught as the main foreign language already in schools.

According to her, learning Chinese can be simplified through a systematic approach and the use of modern technologies, including artificial intelligence. In universities, according to the specialist, the programs will have to be divided into academic and applied ones, as well as expand the training of teachers.

On March 5, Valeria Alekseeva, the founder of the Valeria Alekseeva Chinese Language School, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, said that the use of youth slang and borrowed words in essays on the Unified State Exam could be considered a mistake. As the expert noted, the exam essay belongs to the official business and journalistic style, therefore, the use of jargon in it is considered inappropriate, regardless of how actively such words are used in everyday speech.
