Sale of 112 thousand bottles of Baikal pearl drinking water suspended in Russia
The state labeling system "Honest Sign" stopped the sale of 112 thousand bottles of drinking water under the name Baikal pearl at the request of Rospotrebnadzor. This was reported on May 4 in the press service of Honest Sign.
"The company has released 112 thousand bottles of potentially unsafe water — their sale has been blocked, and consumers will not be able to buy it until the inspections are completed. <...> According to the agency, the measure is related to the need to prevent possible harm to the life and health of citizens," the Honest Sign Telegram channel says.
The agency pointed out that sales restrictions are imposed at the level of each person on a bottle of water, so it is physically impossible for unsafe products to enter the civil market.
Later, the Honest Sign added that the water was also withdrawn from circulation on the Wildberries marketplace.
On April 28, Rospotrebnadzor announced the suspension of the import and turnover of Jermuk mineral water in Russia due to possible harm to health. An excess of chemicals was detected in it. It is noted that a temporary sanitary measure has been introduced for mineral water with certain dates of manufacture. These products do not correspond to the data indicated on the label, which is a violation, the agency notes.
