Russian mushroom producers are facing declining revenues and rising losses due to weak demand, which does not allow them to increase sales. This was reported on May 4 by the newspaper Kommersant.

Mushroom Rainbow, a large producer of champignons, ended 2025 with a loss of 127.4 million rubles. The company's revenue growth rate slowed from 23.5% to 14.6%, whereas a year earlier the business was profitable.

The publication cites Rosstat data: from 2022 to 2025, the share of unprofitable enterprises in the industry increased from 25% to 40%. In the "Contour.Focus estimated that the number of mushroom growing companies has decreased by 4.2% since the beginning of 2026.

At the same time, the Agroexport federal center reported on April 6 that Russia exported record volumes of fresh champignons in 2025 — more than 9.4 thousand tons worth $10.5 million. It is noted that compared to 2024, exports increased by 20% in physical terms and by 42% in value.
