The Investigative Committee of Russia has opened a criminal case into the desecration of the graves of participants in a special military operation in Krasnodar. This was reported on May 4 in the press service of the Department of the Krasnodar Territory.

"The Investigative Department for the Prikubansky district of the city of Krasnodar of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Krasnodar Territory has opened a criminal case on the desecration of military bases," the department wrote on its Telegram channel.

According to the investigation, the incident occurred on the night of May 1 at the cemetery in Kopanskoye village. Unidentified persons damaged 14 military graves.

"The defendants smashed 13 glass frames with photographs on tombstones, and also dismantled a photo from one of the tombstones and damaged a wooden cross," the press service of the department said.

Currently, investigators are establishing all the circumstances of the incident and are searching for those involved in the commission of the crime.

On April 1, the press service of the regional office of the Investigative Committee for the Kurgan region reported that a criminal case had been opened against a woman who, intoxicated, lit a cigarette from the Eternal Flame at the Victory Obelisk in memory of the Kurgan people who died during the Great Patriotic War. She did not have time to complete her plans, as she was prevented by police officers patrolling the area.
