Lada Sport upgraded the racing Vesta TCR

Lada Vesta TCR cars, which will launch the new season of the Russian Ring Racing Series (RCG), have received a number of technical innovations. The press service of the Lada Sport Rosneft team shared details about the updated model with Izvestia on May 4.

The Lada Vesta racing engine remained the same (1.8-liter turbocharged unit with a capacity of about 340 hp), but received a modified "firmware". It is noted that due to this, the work with the accelerator pedal has been improved, which should allow the car to accelerate more efficiently at the exit of turns.

The transmission supplier has been changed — the 3MO gearbox has been replaced by a lighter Sadev unit, which is characterized by the possibility of faster gear shifting. The kinematics of the front suspension has also been revised, and the rear has been completely redesigned — the "oblique lever" version has been replaced by the "oblique lever with variable wheel alignment". In addition, during the off-season, work was carried out on the Vesta TCR body, which became lighter and tougher.

The updated Lada Vesta TCR will be piloted by graduates of the Lada Sport Rosneft Junior karting team Ivan Chubarov and Artyom Severyukhin. Chubarov's best result in the premier class of the Russian ring is the title of vice-champion of the 2023 season. Severyukhin became the bronze medalist of the Russian Karting Championship in 2024. Last year, he won half of the races in the domestic Formula 4 and, as a bonus, got the opportunity to try himself behind the wheel of the Vesta TCR at two stages of the season, and reached the podium on the first one. The 2026 RCG season starts in mid-May with a stage at the Moscow Raceway near Moscow.
