From May 15, the family series "Oliva, Igor and Rex" will be shown on the TV channel "The SUN", before that, on May 13, the premiere will take place in online cinemas START, Okko and Ivy. The role of Olive is played by young star Olivia Mintz. The director of the project is Alexander Zhigalkin.

The year is 1984. Olive lives with her grandparents in the village, while her parents, mom Anna and dad Boris, work as doctors in Africa. But their business trip is over, and Olive, who grew up among goats and chickens, has to move to the city. But her loyal friends, Igor and dog Rex, find a way to move in with her. And then the fun begins. Olives, Igor and Rexa have a great adventure every day. It's no problem to teach the main bully a lesson in the yard. Picking up a can of worms in the garden for a hungry woodpecker is not a question. To reconcile a lover of listening to classics with her disgruntled neighbor, who knocks on the battery, is done. And, of course, have a good prank. Everything is humanly simple and understandable. In each episode there are family situations, relationships with parents, ironic aphorisms from Matilda Frantsevna.

"Oliva, Igor and Rex" is a very personal project for me. When working with the general concept, the script, and the installation, it's like you're always returning to that wonderful time when you could find a lot of entertainment for yourself at any moment, even without any gadgets or social networks. And it's also a story about a real strong friendship without any "ifs". You could even say that this is some kind of good fairy tale without magic. Because now, when we are adults and very serious, our childhood seems so fabulous to us — without falsehood, with eternal disappearing into courtyards, adventures.… And most importantly, with a lot of kind people around. I believe that with this project we will all become a little kinder, and children, moms, dads, and even grandmothers will find something in this series for themselves and watch it together, as a family," said Ruben Oganesyan, the general producer of the series.

"Any project designed for a family audience imposes a special responsibility on its producers, because it is supposed to be viewed not only by adults, but also by children. There is an educational component, an entertainment component, and an educational component. As for our specific case - "Oliva, Igor and Rex" — I can say that this is a very important story for me, because it is connected with my Soviet childhood, graduation from school. It was 1984, I was in the ninth grade, and I remember it well. The difficulty of the project is that there were a lot of animals, but we managed it, and we were helped by high-level professionals who brought them to the site already prepared. Well, our children are wonderful actors, they made us incredibly happy as professionals. The difficulty of working with children is that when working with them as actors, you should never forget that for them, playing in the frame is still part of the game, part of their childhood. And if we continue to play with them and find a common language, then the difficulties are leveled and turn into joy, which, in fact, we had. We spent these six weeks in great happiness and fun. And this wonderful atmosphere of filming, I hope, will be embodied in the frame, and the audience will be able to read it," said Alexander Zhigalkin.

In each episode there are adult characters who at one time, perhaps, were also not particularly exemplary children, at least Boris.:

Boris (Alexey Zolotovitsky) is Olives' dad. A talented surgeon and a big kid who secretly supports all of his daughter's experiments. He is proud of her and always helps her out.

Initially, the project had a different name, because the main character was called differently according to the script. The producers were looking for something more colorful. And when Olivia Mintz appeared at the casting and did everything right the first time, everyone immediately realized that the heroine should be exactly the "Olive". The girl was so organically integrated into the image that the creators renamed the series.

"In the series Olive, Igor and Rex, viewers find themselves in a cozy, familiar and beloved childhood world, where a girl lives who "does not fit into the framework," but changes everyone around for the better. It took several months to find "that very" Olive, a girl with childish wisdom and a mischievous twinkle in her eyes. Not just an actress, but a real, living heroine that both children and adults will believe. And anyway, every character, from Igor to Matilda, is the result of the long work of the whole team. As a result, we didn't just make a TV series — we created a whole world filled with warmth, humor, and such important meanings about friendship, family, and self-acceptance. I am sure that the audience will feel it, and then it will be the very magic for which family cinema exists" — Kirill Yemelyanov, Director of Production of the SUN TV channel.
