The court confirmed the arrest of journalist Roldugin in the case of personal data
The Moscow City Court has declared lawful the detention of Oleg Roldugin, a columnist for Novaya Gazeta and co-founder of the newspaper Sobesednik (listed in the register of foreign agents), a suspect in the case of the illegal use of personal data. This was reported on May 4 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.
On April 10, at the request of the investigation, the court arrested Roldugin until May 10. During the meeting, the investigator insisted on taking the journalist into custody, as there was information that he could hide on the territory of foreign countries.
A source from Izvestia reported on the searches in the editorial office of Novaya Gazeta on April 9.
Later, footage of Roldugin's detention was published. The journalist was taken out of the building by law enforcement officers and placed in an official car.
