The second patient will receive an mRNA vaccine against melanoma. Alexander Gintsburg, Scientific director of the N.F. Gamalei National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology (NITSEM) of the Russian Ministry of Health, told about this on May 4.

It is expected that the drug will be prepared and administered between the May holidays.

"A second patient is being prepared, and I hope that the drug will be manufactured between the May holidays. And, accordingly, we will begin to connect the second patient," he told RIA Novosti.

On May 1, Ginzburg said that the first changes were recorded in the tests of the first patient who received the vaccine for the treatment of melanoma. We are talking about a patient who was given the personalized antitumor mRNA vaccine "NEOONKOVAC" for the first time in clinical practice in April. According to Ginzburg, standard tests were taken from the patient, including a study of cytokine production.

On April 1, the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation informed Izvestia that for the first time in Russia, a personalized domestic vaccine against cancer was used in clinical practice. The agency indicated that today it can be used as a therapy for the treatment of adult patients who have inoperable or metastatic melanoma of the skin.
