- The State Duma proposed to maintain the district pension coefficient for employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs when moving
The district coefficient for calculating pensions can be maintained regardless of the place of residence at the time of assignment of payments for employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs who have served in the regions of the Far North for at least 15 years. On May 4, LDPR leader Leonid Slutsky addressed such an initiative in a letter to Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev.
"The Liberal Democratic Party insists on maintaining an increased coefficient for calculating pensions for Interior Ministry employees who have served in the Far North for at least 15 years, regardless of which region and status they are in at the time of retirement," TASS quoted a fragment of the document.
Currently, in Russia, the right to maintain the coefficient is preserved only after moving from the regions of the Far North after leaving the service. If a person continues to serve after being transferred to another region, this may cause the loss of the "northern" allowances.
Alexander Safonov, a professor at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, said on April 22 that the nearest indexation of pensions for military personnel would take place on October 1, 2026. He added that military pensions are planned to be increased by 4%, but the final amount may be increased if the actual inflation for the year is higher than projected. The expert continued that the size of the pension also depends on the length of service. For example, with 20 years of service, 50% of the salary is taken, 3% is added for each subsequent year, but no more than 85%.
