- Araqchi announced the transfer of proposals for an agreement to Iran from the United States through Pakistan
The United States has sent proposals to Iran through Pakistan to resolve the conflict. This was announced on May 3 by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi.
"The Americans have provided the Pakistani side with a response to Iran's 14-point plan, and we are currently studying it," the Iranian State Television and Radio Company (IRIB) quoted him as saying on the Telegram channel.
According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic, Tehran is currently studying these proposals. However, he clarified that the initiative does not concern the Iranian nuclear program.
On that day, the Axios portal reported that Iran had handed over a 14-point plan to the American side, in which it proposed that the United States negotiate a cessation of hostilities, lifting the blockade and opening the Strait of Hormuz within 30 days. According to the Iranian proposal, only after the deal is concluded will another month of negotiations begin.
The day before, Tasnim news agency also informed that Tehran had submitted a settlement plan to Washington in response to a proposal to end the armed conflict. At the same time, Iran insists on resolving key issues within 30 days, demanding the unfreezing of foreign assets and the lifting of sanctions.
