Two people died due to an explosion in a house in the city of Bristol in southern England, authorities consider the cause of the incident suspicious. This was reported by the local police on May 3.

"Today (Sunday, May 3), at about 6:30 a.m. (4:30 a.m. Moscow time), an explosion occurred in an apartment building on Sterncourt Road. <...> Two adults were killed in the explosion, and their families were notified of the incident," the police said in a statement on their website.

It is noted that the cause of the incident is being treated as suspicious, and an emergency situation has been declared. At the same time, the police added that they do not consider this as a terrorist act and are not looking for suspects yet.

Several residential buildings were cordoned off in the vicinity of the house where the explosion occurred. The population living within the fenced area was also evacuated to a temporary reception point.

An explosion also occurred at a pharmaceutical company's factory in Japan on April 28, injuring at least five people. It is specified that two ethanol tanks exploded, after which a fire broke out, which was extinguished about three hours later.
