- Israel has approved the purchase of two new F-35 and F-15IA fighter squadrons from the United States.
Israel will purchase two squadrons of F-35 and F-15IA fighter jets from the United States. This was announced on May 3 by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
"We are purchasing two fleets of modern aircraft: F-35 and F-15IA.These planes reinforce Israel's overwhelming air superiority," he said in a video message posted on his Telegram channel.
Netanyahu added that Israel intends to develop its own production of aircraft and drones, as well as anti-drone weapons. According to him, the country's defense budget will be increased by 350 billion shekels in the next 10 years.
CNN News 21 reported that the military operation against Iran has led to a critical depletion of US stocks of key weapons. The publication notes that during the current conflict, the United States has already used up at least 45% of its precision missiles, about 50% of THAAD missiles (for intercepting ballistic targets), as well as almost 50% of shells for Patriot anti-aircraft systems.
