Stubb joked about the "president behind bars" at a meeting with residents
On May 1, Finnish President Alexander Stubb joked about allegedly being behind bars in prison when he communicated with residents through the fence of the Presidential Palace.
At the event, the politician first talked to journalists, after which he approached the citizens of the country who were waiting for him nearby. For security reasons, the palace building was surrounded by a metal fence resembling a lattice, through which Stubb talked to the residents.
One of the participants asked to take a photo together with the president, to which the politician refused, citing unsuitable conditions due to the bars.
"It's a little difficult to take a photo together… The president is behind bars. This is bad," Iltalehti newspaper quoted him as saying.
