- The State Duma proposed the inclusion of postpartum rehabilitation of women in compulsory medical insurance
The State Duma proposed to include postpartum rehabilitation of women in the compulsory health insurance system. This was announced on May 3 by the head of the State Duma Committee on Health Protection, Sergei Leonov (LDPR).
"We have a number of, so to speak, issues related to cosmetic surgery. Let's take women, let's take pregnancy, right? Why not introduce into compulsory medical insurance, for example, rehabilitation of pregnant women after childbirth. So that they can rest somewhere, so that they can improve their health together with the child," Leonov said in an interview with RIA Novosti journalists.
He believes that women need rest, restoration of health and elimination of possible aesthetic deficiencies at public expense.
On April 1, Leonov announced that in Russia, information about mental disorders, as well as some diagnoses such as prediabetes, obesity and osteoporosis, could be added to medical records. It is specified that in this regard, the table of risk factors and conditions identified during the medical examination that increase the likelihood of chronic non-communicable diseases will include graphs on the likelihood of falls, fractures, cognitive impairments and other problems.
