- The administration of the Moscow region denied the introduction of restrictions on wired Internet
There were no restrictions on wired Internet access in the Moscow region during the May holidays. This was announced on May 2 at the Ministry of Public Administration, Information Technology and Communications of the Moscow region.
"During the May holidays, there were no restrictions on the operation of wired Internet in the Moscow region. The networks are functioning normally," the agency told RIA Novosti.
It is noted that in case of technical problems, local residents should contact their Internet service provider.
The ministry recalled that to ensure security, temporary restrictions on the operation of the Network can only be introduced for mobile Internet. Possible disconnections do not apply to the wired connection.
"This is necessary for the safety of residents and the protection of infrastructure facilities. During such periods, access to the most important Russian resources should be maintained through a "White List," they said.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said on April 23 that Internet disruptions in major cities are related to preventing terrorist threats, and this work is a priority. He stressed that widely informing people about the limitations of the Internet in advance can damage the operational work of the special services. Criminals, receiving such information, can adjust their plans. At the same time, the president pointed out that as a result of such restrictions, people should be informed "about what was happening."
