The US Navy has redirected 48 Iran-bound vessels since the beginning of the naval blockade of Iran. This was announced on May 2 by the Central Command of the US Armed Forces (CENTCOM).

"Over the past 20 days, 48 [Iranian-linked] vessels have been diverted to enforce the blockade," said a post on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

On April 26, CENTCOM reported that since the beginning of the naval blockade of Iran, the number of redirected vessels has reached 38. It was noted that the US military continues to control Iranian ports, restricting the entry and exit of ships.

On April 18, the Iranian armed forces announced the restoration of military control over the Strait of Hormuz due to the blockade by the United States. Later, Iran blocked the Strait of Hormuz from the evening of April 18 until the complete lifting of the US naval blockade.
