An ammunition was found in the north-west of Moscow, presumably dating back to the period of the Great Patriotic War (WWII). This was reported on May 2 in the press service of the Moscow Main Directorate (GU) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

"Previously, an object was found, presumably similar to the ammunition of the Great Patriotic War with traces of corrosion," the department told TASS.

It is specified that all necessary measures are being taken at the place of detection of an explosive object.

In November last year, a German helmet from the Second World War was discovered in the Neva River near the Peter and Paul Fortress in St. Petersburg. The helmet was brought by a strong current from the battlefields of Leningrad. Due to severe corrosion, a moment after lifting, the find literally fell apart in his hands.
