Finnish President Alexander Stubb said on May 2 that he wanted to contact American leader Donald Trump to consider ideas for assistance to Ukraine.

"I'm very realistic. President Trump is an independent man. If I can contribute at least one of the ten ideas about the conflict in Ukraine, it will be good," n-tv quoted him as saying.

At the same time, he admitted that under no circumstances does he want to overestimate his role in Washington's decisions.

Finnish politician Armando Mema, a member of the Freedom Alliance party, noted on April 28 that the introduction of the 20th package of anti-Russian sanctions by the European Union (EU) would not help resolve the conflict in Ukraine. The politician pointed out that such measures only lead to an increase in tension between Russia and Europe.
