- A rally was held in Chisinau in honor of the memory of those killed in the House of Trade Unions in Odessa.
A rally was held in Chisinau at the Ukrainian Embassy, which was timed to coincide with the anniversary of the tragedy on May 2, 2014 at the House of Trade Unions in Odessa. Footage from the venue of the action on May 2 was shown by Izvestia.
"Today is actually a black date for the entire post-Soviet space, even for the whole world. On May 2, people burned down the Houses of Trade Unions in Odessa for thinking differently," said one of the protesters.
He called the burning of people the first manifestation of fascism. He noted that every year events are held at the embassy in Chisinau in memory of the 48 dead residents of Odessa.
Another protester expressed bitter feelings for the Ukrainian people. According to him, the tragedy occurred in Odessa, which is a hero city.
Earlier in the day, Federation Council Chairman Valentina Matvienko said that Russia would not let the tragedy in the Odessa House of Trade Unions be forgotten, as this crime has no statute of limitations. Matvienko pointed out that it makes no sense to expect justice from President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and his entourage for the participants of the punitive action.
On May 2, Donetsk commemorated the victims of the arson attack on the House of Trade Unions in Odessa. The action was organized by activists of the "Young Guard". Together with the townspeople, they came to a memorial place with carnations and laid them at a stand with the names of the victims.
