The lawyer recalled the responsibility for the misuse of the St. George ribbon.
You may face liability for placing a St. George ribbon on a dog collar or car handle, as this is incompatible with the status of a symbol of military glory. Lawyer Natalia Malinovskaya recalled this on May 2.
"Placing St. George's ribbon on dog collars or car handles can also entail liability, since in the first case it is incompatible with the status of a symbol of military glory, and it can also create direct conditions for damage to the ribbon, which is unacceptable, as in the case of a car handle," she told TASS.
In addition, it is not necessary to attach a ribbon to clothes below the elbow level. However, this in itself is not a desecration of the military symbol. As the lawyer added, citizens should be careful when using the St. George ribbon.
"The placement of the St. George ribbon on clothing below the elbow level may already raise questions from law enforcement agencies. Such wearing of a ribbon does not mean desecration," the lawyer noted.
On April 22, the St. George Ribbon campaign began in Russia, in which volunteers from the Volunteers of Victory headquarters will distribute millions of ribbons to passersby in 8,000 locations across the country. The campaign is timed to coincide with Victory Day and will run until May 9th. In addition to the St. George ribbon itself, volunteers provide information booklets with it, which describe the rules for wearing it, as well as the history of its appearance.
