The Russian Ambassador pointed to the lack of progress by Germany in the investigation of the Nord Streams

In Germany, the investigation failed to make progress in investigating the terrorist attacks on the Nord Streams gas pipelines. This was announced on May 2 by Russian Ambassador to Germany Sergey Nechaev.

Germany's refusal to cooperate with Russia in this case constitutes a violation of the conventions on combating terrorist bombings and on combating the financing of terrorism.

"The aforementioned conventions, to which Russia, Germany and a number of other countries have joined, oblige the parties to assist each other in investigating terrorist crimes. However, this is not happening. The German side ignored all our requests for legal assistance and proposals for a joint investigation. As you know, the German investigation has not made much progress over the years," the diplomat told RIA Novosti.

As Nechaev noted, the version about Ukrainian amateur saboteurs is still "in use."

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on April 29 that the German authorities continue to delay the investigation of the attack on the Nord Stream and Nord Stream–2 gas pipelines.The investigations conducted by Denmark and Sweden, as Zakharova added, did not yield results, so their initiators preferred to forget about the terrorist attack. At the same time, all initiatives coming from Russia, according to her, are either ignored or suppressed under "far-fetched pretexts."

On April 2, Oleg Tyapkin, Director of the third European Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, criticized Germany for violating its obligations in cooperation with the Russian Federation on the investigation of the terrorist attack on Nord Streams. According to him, the steps taken by Berlin indicate non-compliance with the International Convention for the Suppression of Terrorist Bombings and the International Convention for the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism.
