The Russian Foreign Ministry said the West was to blame for the deterioration of relations among the "five" in the UN Security Council.

The destructive actions of Western countries have led to a serious deterioration in relations between the five permanent members of the UN Security Council. This statement was made on May 2 by Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry Andrei Belousov.

"As a result of the destructive actions of the West, there has been a deep degradation in relations between the five permanent members of the UN Security Council, which are both de jure nuclear powers and bear special responsibility for maintaining international peace and security," he said at the conference.
