A criminal case was opened after a hard landing of the Mi-8 helicopter in Komi
A criminal case has been opened in connection with a helicopter landing in the Komi Republic. This was reported on May 1 in the Western Interregional Investigative Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
"It was previously established that on May 1, 2026, the Mi-8 helicopter made a hard landing in the city of Usinsk in the Komi Republic with passengers on board. Information about the victims is being clarified, there are no fatalities," the ministry said in a statement.
According to the Ministry of Health of the Komi Republic, 10 people were injured in the accident, with a total of 24 passengers on board. Four brigades of the Usinsk Central District Hospital left to provide emergency care.
All the victims were taken to the emergency department: two received moderate injuries, eight more received minor injuries. They are currently undergoing an examination, and a decision on hospitalization will be made later. Investigators are conducting a set of actions to establish all the circumstances.
