A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. From April 25 to May 1, in response to Ukraine's terrorist attacks on civilian targets in Russia, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation carried out massive and five group strikes with high-precision long-range weapons based on land, air, sea and unmanned aerial vehicles. Enterprises of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine, energy, transport and port infrastructure facilities used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), assembly, storage and launch sites for unmanned aerial vehicles and unmanned boats, as well as temporary deployment sites for Ukrainian armed forces and foreign mercenaries were affected.
"As a result of active offensive actions, units of the Southern Group of Forces liberated the settlements of Ilyinovka and Novodmitrovka in the Donetsk People's Republic. The manpower and equipment of six mechanized, two motorized infantry, assault, mountain assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a marine brigade and two air defense brigades were defeated. In total, more than 1,125 servicemen, 17 armored combat vehicles, including two US—made M113 armored personnel carriers, 101 vehicles and 13 field artillery guns were lost in the area of responsibility of the Southern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.
As a result of the active actions of the units of the North group of forces, control was established over the settlement of Pokalyan in the Kharkiv region. In addition, last week, units of the group took control of the settlements of Bochkovo, Zemlyanki, Kharkiv region, Korchakovka, Novodmitrovka and Taratutino, Sumy region. In total, the enemy lost more than 1,270 military personnel, six armored combat vehicles and 45 vehicles in the area of responsibility of the North group of forces.
During the week, the town of Ilyichovka, Donetsk People's Republic, was liberated by decisive actions of units of the Zapad group of forces. The enemy's losses in this area amounted to over 1,340 military personnel, 14 armored combat vehicles, five of them Western-made, 111 vehicles and 14 field artillery guns.
Last week, units of the Center group of forces liberated the settlement of Novoaleksandrovka in the Donetsk People's Republic. In total, the enemy lost over 2,045 military personnel, 18 armored combat vehicles, 60 vehicles and 13 artillery pieces in this area.
The units of the Vostok group of forces continue to advance into the depth of the enemy's defenses. During the week, the losses of the Ukrainian armed forces in the area of responsibility of the Vostok group of forces amounted to more than 1,960 military personnel, 17 armored combat vehicles, 33 vehicles and six field artillery pieces, including two 155-millimeter Paladin self-propelled artillery units manufactured by the United States.
Over the past week, a Croatian-made RAK-SA-12 multiple rocket launcher combat vehicle, two Grad multiple rocket launcher combat vehicles, as well as two Buk-M1 anti-aircraft missile systems have been destroyed by unmanned aerial vehicles, missile forces and artillery of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. 53 guided aerial bombs, four US-made HIMARS multiple rocket launchers and 2,628 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down by air defense systems. The forces of the Black Sea Fleet destroyed 14 unmanned boats of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Black Sea.
Since the beginning of the special military operation, 671 aircraft, 284 helicopters, 139,894 unmanned aerial vehicles, 658 anti-aircraft missile systems, 29,110 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,712 multiple rocket launchers, 34,691 field artillery and mortars, and 60,531 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
