In Tuapse, more than 13,000 cubic meters of fuel oil were collected after a fire at an oil refinery as a result of a Ukrainian attack. This was announced on May 1 by the head of the district Sergey Boyko.

"Oil products are being collected at three sites in Tuapse. In total, 13,333 cubic meters of fuel oil, coal—oil and water-oil mixture were collected and exported at three work sites," he wrote on the Telegram channel.

According to him, 790 people and 48 pieces of equipment were involved in the elimination of the consequences. He also noted that 85 people who had previously been evacuated due to the fire remained in the city's hotels.

The day before, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak called the situation at the Tuapse refinery difficult and requiring assessment. He noted that only after the complete elimination of the fire, specialists will be able to analyze the damage and determine how long it will take to repair the plant.

The operational headquarters of the Krasnodar Territory reported on April 28 that a fire started at the Tuapse refinery due to falling debris from drones (UAVs). On the same day, Russian President Vladimir Putin drew attention to the fact that attacks on energy facilities in Tuapse could have serious environmental consequences.
